We at The Picture Palace have been hemming and hawing about optical discs for the nearly five years we've been online. The hemming and hawing continues although our MonsterBase and Music Video Dbase both include all major DVD releases.
Is Laser Dead?
Two more big names drop the laser format - Tower, which spent the past few months having bargain bin sales on LDs, and the Roan Group, a specialty firm that put out classic older films on laser and now becomes a DVD maker.
Meanwhile the online bargain bin sale of DVDs continues! Can online merchants continue to sell DVDs at 50% off when the wholesale discounts we get quoted run only as high as 12%? Stay tuned...
